Tykes not Cook-ing up a deal

FulhamBarnsley manager Simon Davey has denied any interest in Austria midfielder Jurgen Samuel and Lee Cook of Fulham.

Davey, who keeps his cards notoriously close to his chest on transfer targets, admitted recently "there's nothing happening" and that he did not expect to make his first foray into the transfer market until July.

However, it would appear Sturm Graz favourite Samuel, also a target for Premier League new-boys Hull, and winger Cook, 25, are not on his list of potential new arrivals.

Davey would like to recruit a proven goalscorer and a left-sided midfielder, while the Oakwell boss has denied any contact from Nottingham Forest for transfer-listed striker Istvan Ferenczi.
