Villa ace dents Cottagers hopes

FulhamMarlon Harewood has delivered a blow to Stoke, Fulham and QPR by revealing he wants to stay at Aston Villa.

The striker admitted at the start of the year he was unhappy with his role of 'supersub' but has now performed a U-turn and is intent of forcing his way into the plans of manager Martin O'Neill.

Harewood has two years remaining of his current contract and is determined to show Villa Park fans what he is capable of.

He confirmed to the official club website:"There's a lot more to come from this squad and hopefully a lot more to come from me. I want to play my part.

"I'm looking forward to my second season here and hopefully I can show more of what I can do and hopefully I'll get the chance to shine.

"The fans saw what I could do in the second half of last season and I just want to get out there and show my stuff again next season."
