Fulham could have a free run on Newcastle winger Jonas Gutierrez after the Argentine confirmed he has heard nothing from Porto.

The former Real Mallorca star looks set to move on following the Magpies' relegation from the Premier League and reports claim Cottagers chief Roy Hodgson wants him on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent signing next summer

Portuguese giants Porto were thought to be in the running as well but Gutierrez insists he has heard nothing from them.

He told reported in South America: "I only know about the rumours, nobody has contacted me with this option.

"To play in the second division in England is not a dream, but it depends on Newcastle."
