Ronnie Jepson says he expects a number of bids for midfielder Matt Jarvis in January, but still insists he doesn't want him to leave.

The 20-year-old has attracted numerous interest from a host of clubs after declining an offer of a new long-term contract at Priestfield, but Gillingam boss Jepson insists he doesn't want the highly rated player to leave.

The Gills have already turned down a written offer from Plymouth for Jarvis' services, and Jepson says he anticipates that a number of other clubs will enquire into the player when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.

Jepson told BBC Radio Kent: "I'd imagine there will be more bids and we will deal with them as they come along.

"I have to think about the other players as well and be focused on them but I do want Matt to stay."
