Cink pulls further clear

GolfStewart Cink holds a two-shot lead ahead of the final round at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut.

The American followed his opening two rounds of 66 and 64 with a five-under par 65, which included two birdies in his last two holes, to move to -15 and extend his advantage by one shot.

Heath Slocum has now moved up to second at -13 following a round of 64, one shot clear of a group of five at 12-under-par.

Having started the day one shot behind the leader, defending champion Hunter Mahan has slipped three adrift into that tie for third after a third round 67, alongside Vijay Singh, Kenny Perry, Kevin Streelman and Tommy Armour III.

There is a group of seven players locked one shot further off the pace at -11 on a day of low scoring at the TPC River Highlands, and Cink expects the same again in the last round.

"Some guys got hot and boom, they're up there at double-digits under par," he said. "I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be the same way tomorrow."

Slocum feels he needs to continue his good form on the greens if he is to have a chance of glory.

"Definitely the putter has carried over to this week," he said. "I'm going to probably have to lean on it tomorrow hard if I'm going to think about winning this golf tournament."
