Donald out of French Open

GolfLuke Donald has pulled out of this week's French Open as he is still struggling with the wrist injury picked up at the US Open.

The Englishman was forced to withdraw midway through his fourth round at Torrey Pines in San Diego after suffering the injury while on the course.

The Ryder Cup star missed last week's BMW International Open in Munich, which was eventually won by home favourite Martin Kaymer after a play-off, and he will play no part at Le Golf National near Paris.

Ian Poulter also suffered a wrist injury at the US Open but is on the list to play this week.

Spaniard Jose Maria Olazabal has withdrawn, with his manager saying the two-time Masters champion is still suffering from fatigue.

Olazabal has not played since missing the cut at the PGA Championship at Wentworth a month ago and has been told to rest until his energy levels improve.
