Dougherty shares lead in Sweden

GolfNick Dougherty, Peter Hanson and Pedro Linhart are all share the lead on four under after the first-round of the SAS Masters.

Dougherty finished second in the same event last year in Stockholm but carded a bogey-free round of 66 gave him a share of the lead in wet and windy conditions.

The Irishman's best finish this year was a share of fourth at the Welsh Open but he managed a great round the highlight of which was an eagle at the 12th, his third of the round, by holing a wedge shot from 142 yards.

"It's been a long while since I've had a round with no bogeys. I had plenty of them last week, that's for sure!" said Dougherty after making an early ext from the USPGA championship last week.

Hanson, also on four under, admitted that the course was very different when compared with the course at Oakland hills where the Swede had finished 52nd.

"It's an enormous difference," Hanson said. "Here the fairways are wider and the greens softer. You have to play aggressive and go for the pin here."

Hanson started and finished his round with bogeys but managed six birdies in between.
