Jim Furyk's birdie on the last gave him a share of the lead with fellow American Jonathan Byrd in the Memorial Tournament in Ohio.

Furyk carded a two-under round of 70 to make it to seven under alongside Byrd, who had shot 68 around Muirfield Village.

The duo hold just a one-shot lead over Canada's Mike Weir and American Mark Wilson while Ernie Els (70) and overnight leader Luke Donald (76) were further back in a group on -4.

Tiger Woods, who recorded his worst-ever round at the Memorial as he shot a two-over par 74, and Paul Casey were both one under at the end of day two.

Byrd was happy with his efforts and was particularly pleased with his bogey-free card.

"A clean day out there, no bogeys, something that I'm pretty proud of on this golf course," he said. "I played solid all day. I did a good job of staying patient. It's a good start."

Meanwhile, Padraig Harrington, Greg Owen, Brian Davis and Justin Rose all missed the cut.
