German ace eyes Cup place

GolfGermany's Martin Kaymer insists he doesn't feel any pressure despite being in a battle to make the Ryder Cup team.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a great season on the European Tour, winning two events - Abu Dhabi Championship and BMW International Open, and is on the brink of qualifying for the European side.

Kaymer is just £215 behind Denmark's Soren Hansen in the standings, while English quartet Justin Rose, Oliver Wilson, Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher are also battling for a qualification spot.

The Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles on August 28-31 will be the final qualifying event before Nick Faldo selects his two wildcard picks, with Kaymer looking forward to challenge.

The Dusseldorf-born star insisted: "It sounds weird but I don't feel the pressure.

"I just see it as a challenge and it's fun to be in position trying to make others angry. It's getting really tight, but I'm enjoying it."
