Kaymer on verge of victory

GolfHome favourite Martin Kaymer is on the verge of securing victory at the BMW Open going into the last day with a six shot lead.

The German rookie shot a bogey-free round of 67 to move clear at the top of the leader board heading into the final day in Munich.

With a win, the 23-year-old could now leap frog Oliver Wilson, Henrik Stenson, Nick Dougherty and Graeme McDowell from 10th place in the Ryder Cup table to sixth.

Wilson and Dougherty are on a week off whilst McDowell missed the cut and Stenson could only manage a round of 72 to keep him at seven-under-par.

Kaymer is now -18 with his closest rival Charl Schwartzel -12 after he carded a round of 66, while English trio Paul Casey, Ross Fisher and Benn Barham are a further shot behind in a share of third place.
