Lewis on top in Minnesota

GolfStacy Lewis carded a third-round six-under-par 67 to take a one-shot lead in the US Women's Open over fellow American Paula Creamer.

The 23-year-old Lewis is taking part in her first professional tournament and has taken everyone by surprise after powering to nine-under-par, with Swede Helen Alfredsson and South Korean Inbee Park two shots off the pace on -7.

Brazilian teenager Angela Park, who was exceptional in the tricky second-round conditions when carding a 67 to take the lead at halfway, struggled in round three shooting 75 to slip back to four under.

Meanwhile, ten-time Major winner Annika Sorenstam is two under for the tournament and Scotland's Catriona Matthew is back in a share of 24th position on one-over-par.
