Perry has now claimed his third Tour victory in the last five events he has played, with his previous wins coming at the Memorial Tournament and the Buick Open, and is now a big contender for a Ryder Cup place.
"I felt like I gave it away and they gave it back to me but I produced some key shots and that was a great win for me," Perry said.
"It's just my time. I don't know why it is happening but things are just going my way."
He has now equalled his previous best-ever season when he claimed three titles in 2003 but will look to improve his record at the Milwaukee Championship next week, after maintaining his commitment to the event rather than playing in the Open.
Williamson's finish, and better final round than Adamonis, has seen him become the final player to qualify for the weekend's Royal Birkdale showpiece.
