Ian Poulter believes he can kick on from his good showing at the Open and win a Major title in the near future.
Preparing for this week's World Golf Championship event, the Bridgestone Invitational, the Englishman admits he is looking to go to the next level and be more consistent on the world stage.
Poulter gained an enormous boost in self-belief following his display at Birkdale, where he finished second to Padraig Harrington, and feels a big win is around the corner.
He told Sky Sports: "I'm 32, and I think the average age of major winners is about 32, so it's kind of a nice time to be feeling quite comfortable and to put a performance in and hopefully finding something which works.
"The mental process of being out there and playing seemed to work very well in the Open, and hopefully I can take that forward into majors coming up, and hopefully we can kick on in the big tournaments from now on."
