Players Championship winner Henrik Stenson has announced he will rejoin the PGA Tour for the 2010 season.

The 33-year-old Swede, who finished 18th in the race to Dubai last year, was expected to return to the Tour for the new season and now has confirmed he plans to come back later this year, basing himself in Orlando.

"Family-wise it's convenient and also all of the big events are pretty much in America from the Match Play up until the US Open and then I just add a couple in between," Stenson said prior to the Commercialbank Qatar Masters - a European Tour event.

"I was a member in 2007 and I felt that it was time to take up the membership again. There are great tournaments and great weather and great competition as well, so it's got a lot going for it."

He added: "But obviously Europe is still my home tour and I'll be making a few visits."
