"Unbelievable" win for Perry

GolfKenny Perry could not believe his luck after a final-hole bogey by Woody Austin gave him the Buick Open title for a second time.

The US veteran carded a final-round 66 to finish on 19-under-par and then watched as Austin dropped shots at the 17th and 18th to hand him the title when it seemed the runners-up spot was a certainty.

Austin did have a chance to force a play-off with an 18-foot putt on the final hole, but his effort stayed above ground and Perry celebrated an unlikely success in Michigan.

"I still can't believe I won," he said. "I feel like I need to go make a birdie out there to go win this tournament. I had multiple wins in '03, '05 and '08. My forties have been pretty good for me."

Bubba Watson also had a chance to make the play-off but he left a 12-foot putt just inches from the hole.

Third-round leader Daniel Chopra of Sweden finished with a final round of 75 to finish on 13-under and a tie for 17th place.
