Accies close to Kerr deal

Scotland international Brian Kerr is on the verge of joining SPL outfit Hamilton Academicals on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old, who left SPL rivals Hibernian in the summer and has three caps to his name, is set to join the Accies after training with the club over the past week.

Kerr has trained with MLS side Toronto and English League One club Brighton in recent weeks, but is now close to joining Hamilton.

"We'll see if a deal can be done. He fits the bill of the type of player we want," said boss Billy Reid.
