Billy Reid believes the collapse of television company Setanta will badly affect his ability to bring in any new players to Hamilton.

The Irish television corporation is currently in serve financial difficulties and there is plenty of speculation that the company will be liquidated if they can't find a new buyer.

If Setanta were to go under it could cost all the SPL sides millions of pounds, and Reid admits it would certainly stunt his spending power this summer.

"The Setanta situation is a big, big problem not just for Hamilton Accies but for everybody in the SPL," said Reid.

"Everybody knows how much of an impact that is having on clubs just now and when Rangers and Celtic are drawing in their horns it shows you how badly it is affecting clubs."

Reid has just returned from a trip to Spain where he has identified a few new players, but admits he is unsure whether they are within the budget.

"There were two or three players that I really liked, who would definitely play for Hamilton Accies next season, but whether they would be in the realms of our budget is another matter," he added.
