Hamilton have re-signed Colchester forward Joel Thomas on-loan until the end of the season.

Thomas only signed for Colchester in the summer but has failed to make an impact at the Weston Homes Community Stadium with only seven substitute appearance this season and is happy to be returning to Hamilton.

Thomas told the club website: "There have been times where I think I shouldn't have left, but I think I have also been unfortunate here.

"I was feeling very fit when I arrived, but I haven't had much time to play, so I am very happy to go back to Hamilton and to play some football.

If all goes well Thomas could be in line to play in Saturday's home match against Celtic.

Hamilton are currently tenth in the league, just three points above bottom club Falkirk and will be hoping the return of Thomas can give them the boost to fire them up the table.
