Hamilton say they will not allow midfielder James McArthur to leave the club on loan, with reported interest from West Brom and Hull.

With interest south of the border, speculation has been mounting that the 22-year-old could be on the move before the January transfer window closes next Monday.

McArthur has revealed his ambition to play in England but Accies remain adamant that the highly-rated midfielder will not be allowed to leave the club on a temporary basis.

Speaking to the BBC, boss Billy Reid said: "No-one's best player goes on loan, so that won't be any different for us.

"We've not heard anything from West Brom, but there's no way James McArthur will go anywhere on loan."
