Hamilton boss Billy Reid says the Rangers game is likely to come too soon for defender Mark McLaughlin to make his comeback.
The experienced 32-year-old had hoped to return to action in Saturday's live SPL lunchtime clash following his two-month lay-off after knee surgery, but Reid says it is unlikely he will be risked against Walter Smith's men.
He said: "Mark is doing fine but we don't want to push him and see him break down. It would be silly to risk a setback and this week we probably won't take the chance.
"We're now gearing him up for the Motherwell game on November 1."
