Hamilton boss Billy Reid believes new signing Dougie Imrie will go on to be a "sensation" for the Accies.

Imrie joined Reid's side just before the closure of the transfer window from Inverness and impressed in the 1-0 defeat at Motherwell over the weekend.

Reid had been tracking the 26-year-old for much of the season and, while he admits he needs to raise his fitness levels, the Accies boss is delighted with the capture.

"He's got a bit to go in terms of fitness, but you can see why I've been after him for quite some time," Reid said.

"I think he'll be a sensation for us."
