Billy Reid believes his Hamilton players were feeling the affects of a tough fixture schedule in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Motherwell.

Both the Accies boss and Motherwell chief Craig Brown complained of fatigue amongst the players and Reid is pleased that his squad now get a break ahead of their next match.

When asked if his players felt tired after five games in 18 days, Reid admitted: "I think that was evident. The energy was just not there in the players.

"Thankfully that's our midweek games out of the way for the moment. Now we've got eight games to prepare for the Hearts game (on Sunday)."
