Reid happy with spirit

HamiltonAccies boss Billy Reid feels Sunday's heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Celtic shows his side are up for the fight this season.

Hamilton took the lead against the Bhoys through Richard Offiong but were undone by a controversial penalty and a late winner from Paul Hartley.

The defeat left them rooted to the bottom of the SPL but there is no way that Reid is going to concede defeat in his quest to keep the club in the top flight this early in the season and he was pleased with the response of his side against the SPL leaders.

"In the last three or four weeks, things haven't been going our way and the penalty was a big, big decision that influenced the game and went against us again," he said. "But the fact that we kept going shows the spirit within this club.

"We're sitting bottom of the league but nobody's going to throw in the towel here and I think people could see that on Sunday.

"Celtic weren't at their best but I think that had a lot to do with Hamilton Accies."
