Smith impressed by Accies

Rangers Walter Smith has praised Billy Reid and his Hamilton side and feels Accies will be a 'dangerous' team in the SPL this season.

Smith takes his Gers side to New Douglas Park on Saturday and the former Scotland boss is well aware of the threat posed by the top flight new-boys, who have already beaten the likes of Motherwell and Aberdeen this season.

The Rangers boss said: "Enthusiasm has been the key and Billy Reid deserves a great deal of credit.

"They had a good attempt at winning the First Division and didn't do it at that attempt. But they kept the team together, their younger players got a bit more experience, and they got promotion last season, which they thoroughly deserved.

"They have shown in the early part of the SPL that they will be dangerous to any team they have to play."
