Mickael Antoine-Curier admits he is unsure of his future after Dundee confirmed they want him back at the end of the season.
Accies boss Billy Reid is hoping to keep him at New Douglas Park after the Guadeloupe international has impressed in his loan spell at the club, scoring 11 goals in the process to help retain their SPL status.
However, new United chief Gordon Chisholm has said he wants the 27-year-old back at Dens Park, although the player himself admits it will not be sorted until the end of the season.
He said: "I have not spoken to Gordon Chisholm yet but we will see what happens. We have four games remaining and we want to win all of them. Next season is after May 8.
"I was really happy at Dundee but it became frustrating as I was not playing.
"I always believed in myself. Now I am top scorer and I've really enjoyed my time at Hamilton. It's good to feel wanted but my focus is to do well for whatever team I play for."
