Thomas eyes big move

HamiltonHamilton striker Joel Thomas says he hopes to use his time with the SPL newcomers to generate a big-money move elsewhere.

Thomas has previously had spells with Bordeaux and Kaiserslautern and hopes to land a move to the English Premiership or to either Celtic or Rangers, after proving himself this season.

The 21 year-old told the Scottish Sun: "My pal Mehdi Taouil invited me to join Kilmarnock for pre-season training. I left when I heard Wigan were interested in me. But they had too many strikers.

"But Eric Black recommended me to Billy Reid and I was happy to sign for one year.

"My ambition is to use this as a stepping stone to England or maybe Celtic or Rangers."
