Burgess boost for Pools

Last Updated: Mon, 11 Nov 2013 17:04

Hartlepool defender Christian Burgess will return to contention for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Rotherham.

Burgess, on loan from Middlesbrough, missed the weekend FA Cup win against Notts County due to suspension.

Manager Colin Cooper must decide whether to retain Sam Collins in defence or recall Burgess as his side look to secure an eighth win from their last nine matches.

Cooper has no new injury or suspension concerns, while winger Jack Compton, back on the bench at the weekend following suspension, and Antony Sweeney are among those pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.
