Boss Neale Cooper shared the praise around his Hartlepool side after the comfortable 3-0 victory over Notts County.

Pools have lost just once in six games and an Antony Sweeney double and an Andy Monkhouse goal gave them a third home win from four.

Pools lost at Preston in midweek and Cooper said: "Everyone played a part and I didn't need to say a lot to them. They all knew how disappointed I was with losing on Tuesday, they gave me everything. It's so pleasing for me and the fighting spirit they have for each other is immense. The conditions were awful out there but we were superb. The back four and goalkeeper were solid and gave nothing away.

"I thought this could be a hard game, they are a good side with good movement, but when we got to grips with them we created chances even before we scored. We created chances at Preston and didn't take them, here we took them.

"I cannot ask the boys as a group of players to give me any more than that - I'm so proud of them and they all played well. I worry about performances and if I can get that week in, week out, I cannot ask for more.

"When I was here in the past I had the same attitude and it hurts them if they don't do well - they are a happy bunch of boys in the changing room."
