Hartlepool have announced defender Darren Holden has agreed a new contract with the club.

The 19-year-old full-back signed a first professional contract at Victoria Park in the summer and has penned a fresh deal.

Holden made his debut against Tranmere in April 2011 and has gone on to make 15 senior appearances so far.

The youngster has impressed new boss John Hughes and has subsequently been awarded with the offer.
