Jambos ace aims high

HeartsChristophe Berra says he has set himself the aim of helping Scotland qualify and then to play in a World Cup match in 2010.

The Hearts skipper is in the Scotland squad to face Macedonia on Saturday although he is unlikely to be handed a start by George Burley, with Celtic pair Gary Caldwell and Stephen McManus ahead of him in the pecking order.

Berra, who won his first cap for his country last month, said: "I have two years to get to a World Cup and to try to break into the team. I want to play for Scotland but I know how difficult it's going to be because Gary and Stephen have done a superb job for Celtic and for the country.

"But I'm part of the squad now and I have to aim to make the breakthrough - no matter how difficult that might be."
