Paatelainen said: "I want to be positive, there is no doubt about that. Strikers score goals and I really felt that if we were to take anything from the game today we had to score.
"We will still have to work on the movement of the three of them up front because they are so different. But I have said all along that I want to see this formation work because I know that the three of them can cause problems for any side."
The Finnish tactician was also pleased at the way his players bounced back after last weekend's dismal 3-0 defeat to Rangers at Easter Road.
He added: "We had won two games on the bounce before last week but all credit to Rangers as they were really strong when they played us. I'm delighted to get back on winning ways."
