New Hibernian signing Alan Gow has revealed that John Hughes was the main reason he chose to move to his club.

Gow was also in transfer talks with Hearts and Aberdeen but chose to join Hibs after speaking with his former manager.

The two were previously at Falkirk together and Gow says he is looking forward to the prospect of working with Hughes again.

The 27-year-old told the club website: "I really did not want to go anywhere else, there was a few things agreed with other clubs but I wanted to come here.

"I worked with the manager at Falkirk and also with Brian Rice when I was at Airdrie before that - so they were the main reason I wanted to come to Hibs as they helped me improve as a player."
