John Rankin claims Hibernian need to show a ruthless streak in order to keep in touch with the Old Firm in this term's SPL title race.
The Hibees are currently on a 10-match unbeaten run, but Rankin is aware that they are drawing too many games and will soon lose ground on Rangers and Celtic if the trend continues. As a result Rankin is urging his team-mates to convert one point into three in games, starting against Aberdeen this weekend.
He told the Record: "We've drawn our last three away games at Hearts, St Mirren and Kilmarnock and have to start turning these draws into wins.
"It was disappointing to have to settle for a draw at Rugby Park but we came back from a goal down and again showed character so it was probably a good result.
"Aberdeen will be fired up for Saturday as they are going into it on the back of a home defeat and will remember the last time we met at Easter Road.
"Some people might think the game will be a bit of rough and tumble but I don't agree.
"Aberdeen will be looking to get back the form that allowed them to beat Rangers a couple of weeks ago and we want to turn our away draws of late into a win so I think it could be a very good game."
