Trainer George Margarson has targetted the July Course Conditions Stakes at Newmarket for Young Mick later this month.
The race on July 27 is set to be Young Mick's seasonal bow and is being targeted as a stepping stone for the totesport Ebor.
"All being well, he will probably go to Newmarket for a conditions race over a mile and a half," Margarson said.
"He will go there as long as he works well this week and we will be looking to go straight for the Ebor then.
"He's coming back to form now but I was keen for him to be 100% before we ran him as we don't want to run him for the sake of it.
Margarson added: "We knew this year was going to be hard, that was part of the reason we gave him a good, long break.
"We wanted to bring him back for the fast ground as he is a fast-ground horse but with the way the weather has been, conditions wouldn't have been right for him."
