Roberts makes Terriers switch

HuddersfieldGary Roberts has left Ipswich to join Huddersfield Town on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Roberts was told by manager Jim Magilton he had no future at Portman Road at the end of last season and becomes Stan Ternent's sixth summer signing at the Galpharm Stadium.

"Gary is an extremely good player, whose preferred position is the left wing," Ternent told the club's official website. "However, he can play with a striker and on the right-hand side. He is good quality and is another piece of the jigsaw.

"I expect big things from him, as he is a talented lad. He can score goals as well as create them and he's definitely a forward-going player.

"We were lacking width on the left-hand side of our squad and I've been chasing him for some time now, so I'm delighted to get him."
