Boss' hints on transfers

HullHull chairman Paul Duffen has hinted that the club will not be spending any money when the transfer window opens in January.

Duffen has always maintained they would look at the situation when the time comes around but he is wary of upsetting the balance of his side and he will not spend money just for the sake of it.

"I don't see why when January comes around people assume you have to look to strengthen your squad" Duffen told the Mail.

"I don't believe we have to look to bring in players just because the laws of the game dictate that is when the window opens.

"I believe a major element of our success is because we have a good mix of players. In the side that played at Tottenham and Arsenal we had five lads who have been with the club for a long time.

"Two players had been with us for three years and three had been with the club five years.

"They have blended excellently with the new signings of international quality players and I think as a squad we now have wonderful balance."
