Hull boss Steve Bruce has dismissed speculation suggesting he is in the hunt to sign Hamburg midfielder Paul Scharner.
Scharner is keen to leave Hamburg this summer and has been linked with a return to the Premier League, where he has enjoyed spells with Wigan and West Brom.
Hull have been linked over the last couple of days, with reports claiming that talks with the player's agent would take place before the friendly against Eintracht Braunschweig.
Bruce is in the hunt for at least one new midfielder and knows Scharner well from his time at Wigan, but when quizzed about the rumours, he completely dismissed them.
"That's one I can say no to," Bruce told the Hull Daily Mail. "Obviously there's a link there but no."
