Hull boss Steve Bruce is reported to be lining up a swoop for FC Twente midfielder Willem Janssen ahead of the transfer deadline.
Bruce is stepping up his attempts to bolster his midfield ranks before the window closes and is already said to be working on a loan deal for Marseille midfielder Morgan Amalfitano and a permanent swoop for Eric Tie Bi from Evian.
However after losing Stephen Quinn to injury, he wants another addition and is said to be interested in Janssen, who has been recommended by former Twente boss Steve McClaren.
McClaren is reported to have told Bruce that Janssen's game would be perfect in the Premier League and a £2.2milllion swoop for the 27-year-old could be on the cards.
Bruce had been linked with Hamburg midfielder Paul Scharner, but has since distanced himself from the rumours, insisting the former Wigan man is not a target.
