Nick Barmby is hoping to win a new contract at the end of the season but is not worried by a lack of dialogue over a new deal.

The 34-year-old is keen to stay with Hull but it remains to be seen if he is going to feature enough to warrant a new contract. The former England international has only made 10 appearances so far this season.

Barmby is not going to rock the boat and says for now he will just get his head down and do the best he can.

"That is football. You sign a contract and then get your head down and try and earn a new one," he told Sky Sports News.

"That is how it works in football, that is no problem to me. I will keep my head down and keep working hard and hopefully stay in the first team."

"It is up to the club, I am sure they will say something one way or another so it is not a problem."
