Fryatt hopes for Owls stay

Last Updated: Mon, 28 Oct 2013 08:22

Matt Fryatt says a return to Hull will be a step backwards unless he will be handed a chance in the Tigers first team.

Fryatt is currently enjoying some regular football while on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and scored for the Owls as they drew 1-1 with Barnsley at the weekend.

The player's month is nearly up and Fryatt would prefer to stay with the Owls rather than return to Hull and play in the reserves.

"I'll probably just be training again and not playing," Fryatt revealed. "That's not going to benefit me. You need to be playing. You can do everything in training but it's not the same as a game. It's completely different.

"It's really hard to figure out where you're at, because you can feel great in training, but when it comes to the game, you think 'wow, I'm so far off it'.

"I'm getting it back and, if I were to go back and there be nothing at the end of the week, it'd be a step back."
