Hull boss Steve Bruce has confirmed Sunderland are 'very close' to completing a season-long loan deal for Danny Graham.
Bruce is with his Tigers squad at a pre-season training camp in Portugal but Graham held talks with Hull officials at the KC Stadium on Wednesday and could link up with his new team-mates before the weekend.
Sunderland have sanctioned the deal and Graham has agreed personal terms, but there is still the medical to sort out and after the recent setback with Charlie Austin, the Tigers are not counting their chickens.
However barring any late hitches a deal will go through and Bruce believes it is a great signing for the club.
"We're very close and we're hopeful we can get it done before the weekend," Bruce told the Mail. "It looks as though there's a deal to be done with Sunderland and that's now in the hands of our chief executive.
"All the talks have been encouraging but we'll have to wait and see now. We hope we can get something done soon. As I've admitted, he's a player I like and it would be a big boost to our squad to have someone like Danny join."
