Hull have dropped all interest in Celtic striker Gary Hooper and are stepping up attempts to land Burnley's Charlie Austin.
The Tigers are reported to have had one bid of £4million rejected for Hooper but will not be going back with another one after turning their attentions to Austin.
Burnley issued a statement earlier in the week denying that a deal had already been agreed between the two clubs but it will only be a matter of time before the Tigers make a bid.
Austin, like Hooper, has just 12 months remaining on his deal and the Clarets will be forced to cash in if someone matches their valuation, which is thought to be in the region of £6million.
Celtic are also keen on Austin but only as a replacement for Hooper should he leave this summer.
