Keeper battle for Welsh spot

Hull keeper Boaz Myhill is in a straight fight with Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey for the Wales number one spot.

Welsh coach Paul Jones has revealed it is a straight fight between the pair for the number one spot in the national side as John Toshack ponders his first choice.

Hennessey has been talked about in the £10m bracket after staring for Wolves but was recently dropped for their last game whilst Myhill has been outstanding for Hull in their fantastic start to life in the Premiership.

Jones said: "Boaz has done well and Hull have made a great start to the Premier League season. He is a chirpy lad and we probably needed a little more of that with so many youngsters in the squad.

"We did not have that much competition in goal but Tosh wanted to have two guys pushing for each spot.

"Wayne has done the job for us and you cannot dispute that and Boaz has done very well at Hull. It is very close between them now."
