Reggae boy deal dead

HullWigan boss Steve Bruce is ready to pull the plug on striker Marlon King's proposed £2m move to Premier League new boys Hull City.

The former Watford favourite has struggled to prove himself at the JJB since arriving in January and Latics are ready to take a loss on the Jamaica international.

Hull have had a bid accepted for the Wigan striker but the deal is still yet to be finalised.

The Tigers claim the deal has been delayed by King's severance package but Bruce has now admitted he is unhappy at the way the transfer has dragged on.

"It's not happening at the moment, so I'll probably knock the offer on the head," Bruce told the Daily Mail.

"It's gone on long enough."

This would leave boss Phil Brown still in need of a striker with less than two weeks to go ahead of the start of the new season.

Hull were also reported to be interested in bringing Manchester United forward Frazier Campbell to the KC Stadium but it looks as if the young striker will stay at Old Trafford.
