Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer has admitted he would like to sign Hull midfielder Tom Cairney on a permanent basis.
The 22-year-old is currently enjoying a spell on loan with the Championship club but is due to return to the KC Stadium in January, when he will be hoping to force his way into the plans of Steve Bruce.
However, Rovers have other ideas and not only do they want to keep him for the remainder of the season, Bowyer is looking at a permanent transfer.
Bruce may be unwilling to sell but Bowyer is hoping a deal can be struck.
"He's a very good, technical player and we were fortunate we were able to get him when we did," Bowyer revealed. "I think everyone would agree that they would want Tom Cairney to stay at our football club not just until May, but for a long time.
"That's something we'll be working toward, that's for sure."
