Richard Garcia staked a claim for a start in Hull's massive clash with West Ham next week with a brace in the 2-2 draw with Atalanta.

The Australian, who started last Sunday's vital 2-1 win against Stoke City at the KC Stadium, continued his impressive recent form with a positive display and grabbed two goals in the friendly match in Italy on Thursday evening.

Tigers boss Phil Brown will now be tempted to keep Garcia in the XI for the visit of the Hammers next week in what has already been billed a relegation six-pointer.

The Serie A outfit won the contest 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out, but Brown will have been pleased with the overall display from his players given that several of the first team were not available due to international duty.
