Hull are reported to have made one final 'take it or leave it' offer to Burnley for their star striker Charlie Austin.
Tigers' boss Steve Bruce is desperate to bring a new goalscorer to the KC Stadium but he is refusing to pay over the odds for Austin or Celtic striker Gary Hooper.
Bruce is reported to have failed with bids for both players and reports now claim he has left an offer of over £4million for Austin on the table and is hoping to get a positive response.
The former Swindon man has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Turf Moor and the Clarets cannot afford to lose him for nothing this time next year.
Bruce will not budge on the offer and if Burnley do not accept, he is likely to try his luck with another move for Hooper, in the hope Celtic will finally sell.
