Hull are ready to increase their offer for Celtic striker Gary Hooper in the hope it will be enough to secure a deal.
The Tigers have already failed with one bid thought to be in the region of £4million and are ready to test the resolve of the SPL champions by offering £5million for the player.
Celtic face a battle to keep hold of Hooper as a number of Premier League clubs try to lure him south, but it is Hull who appear to be in the driving seat at the moment.
Fresh from completing deals for George Boyd, Maynor Figueroa and Curtis Davies, boss Steve Bruce is desperate to sign at least one striker and Hooper is high on his wanted list.
The striker could be open to a return to East Yorkshire but first of all a fee has to be agreed between the two clubs and that could be easier said than done.
