The head of the French FA has rejected claims that Laurent Blanc has agreed to take over as the manager of the national team.

Speculation has been rife following a number of secret meetings with Jean-Pierre Escalettes that Blanc has agreed in principle to take over Les Bleus from Roman Domenech after this summer's World Cup.

Blanc, who played 97 times for France, is currently under contract with French champions Bordeaux until 2011 and Escallettes insists that no such agreement exists between Blanc and the FFF.

Escalettes told French Radio Station RMC: "It's completely false. Of course I completely deny it.

"Absolutely nothing justifies this type of rumours. It seems absurd to me."
