Leonardo says Milan are unsure whether Alessandro Nesta or Alexandre Pato will be fit to face Manchester United next week.

The key duo are in a race against time to be available for the Champions League meeting at the San Siro next Tuesday, with coach Leonardo admitting he his growing increasingly concerned over their fitness.

Defender Nesta has been struggling with a hamstring strain in recent weeks, while striker Pato has an ongoing muscle complaint and both face a fitness race to line-up against last year's runners up.

Speaking to Football Italia, Leonardo revealed: "They're dragging on a little too much. We will evaluate them over the next few days.

"I don't know if I will have them available on Friday against Udinese or the following Tuesday against Manchester United. I can only hope to get them back before then. And study the alternatives."

Europe's top club prize is the only trophy that the Rossoneri are chasing, with Milan currently ten points behind Inter and already out of the Coppa Italia.
